We’re hiring – Key Account Manager

SolidWatts is a deeptech and greentech startup that enables industry to transition from fossil fuel to clean and sustainable electric for industrial process heating. We have created the new state-of-the-art in solid-state hardware solutions to deliver Microwave (MW) or Radio Frequency (RF) power to heat materials through dielectric heating. Industrial machine builders, integrators and end users integrate our products into their machines, manufacturing and production systems to achieve energy and emissions reductions, improved process control and the ability to develop entirely new processes. With recent investment we are now scaling our sales operations within mainland Europe, bringing innovation and new technology to a sector seeking process improvements and opportunities for decarbonisation. SolidWatts is located in the west of Switzerland.

Job description
We are looking for determined and highly proactive key account managers to win new business and nurture strategic accounts. With a business model based on serving a comparatively small number of high-value accounts, you will need to be highly self-sufficient in deploying a target account selling strategy. As such, previous experience in manufacturing process industries, and with machine builders serving that sector, could be highly advantageous. If you also have knowledge and experience of industrial heat processes, even better! With your experience in solution selling, you will need to hit your sales numbers, but as a startup, we also seek a more holistic skillset and expect our key account managers to actively participate in product market fit validation, customer acquisition and retention strategies, sales operations improvements, and the identification of new business opportunities. You’ll need to relish the opportunity to participate in the building of our company in an exciting, fast moving, constantly changing environment. Boring and repetitive are not words in our vocabulary!

Responsibilities
- Thoroughly and continuously research target markets and accounts and compile the findings and recommendations
- Build a plan for how to penetrate target markets and new accounts
- Monitor and report on progress against the plan
- Respond to and qualify inbound leads assigned to you
- Be proactive in building your own sales leads
- Build and deliver sales presentation materials to meet the needs of the target audiences
- Prepare and present business proposals articulating the value proposition of SolidWatts
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts throughout their lifecycle, from initial contact to deployment and ongoing support to maximise the lifetime value of the account
- Represent the company at industry trade shows and events
- Proactively collaborate with colleagues to drive the business forward

About you
- Proven track record of 5+ years in technology sales (preferably in manufacturing machinery)
- Fluent in English. (Additional languages are a benefit)
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Passionate about technology and extrapolating its value proposition
- Motivated to challenge the status quo and tackle climate change within industry
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and adept at prioritising and multitasking
- Proficiency with productivity tools including the Google suite and CRM software
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Europe, including at least days/month at our HQ in Switzerland
- Proactive approach to constant learning and self-development
